Paul Skinner, a 58-year-old man, went for a bike ride with a few friends. As they traveled down a more isolated stretch of road, they noticed something strange moving in a ditch beside the road. They decided to get closer to see what was happening. As they approached, they saw a scared, seemingly abandoned dog trying to protect a bag in its mouth.

However, the men were shocked when they opened the bag. Inside were four deceased puppies, all appearing to have been born on the same day. Alarmed by what they had witnessed, the men immediately contacted the police. Along with them came representatives from an animal shelter, who took the dog and named her Carly.

Not only did he leave the mother and the puppies behind, but in attempting to deny them a chance at life, he placed them in a knotted plastic bag, essentially giving them a death sentence.

Sadly, there are increasing instances of animal cruelty and abandonment. There is a pressing need for stricter penalties and tougher laws against those who commit these crimes. Our hope is that Carly will find a loving home and receive the care she desperately needs. She is a brave dog who chose to stay with her puppies until the very end, enduring the heat and lack of food or water.
