Blake Shelton recently honored his late friend Joe Bonsall with a heartfelt tribute following Joe’s passing. Joe was a beloved member of the country and gospel group The Oak Ridge Boys from 1973 until 2024.

On Tuesday, Blake shared a photo of himself performing on stage with The Oak Ridge Boys, although the exact time and location of the image remain unknown. He expressed his sorrow on Instagram, stating, “I’m so sad to hear about the death of my friend Joe Bonsall.”

Blake reflected on Joe’s vibrant spirit, noting, “I’ve NEVER seen Joe when he wasn’t smiling and completely full of life. He loved singing more than anyone I’ve ever met.” He also extended his thoughts and prayers to Joe’s family and his fellow bandmates, emphasizing the significance of Joe’s impact.

Joe Bonsall passed away due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neuromuscular condition that currently has no cure. Fans learned of his diagnosis in January 2024, four years after he had begun experiencing symptoms. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, two daughters, Jennifer and Sabrina, as well as two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In a statement from the family, it was shared that Joe authored 11 books, including an upcoming memoir titled *I See Myself*, set to release in November. Joe was passionate about farming and was a dedicated Philadelphia Phillies fan, but his faith and family were always his top priorities.

The Oak Ridge Boys, consisting of Joe, William Lee Golden, Richard Sterban, and Duane Allen, are currently on tour with their show *American Made: The Farewell*, which will run until December 8. The group is known for hits like “Elvira,” “Come On In,” “Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight,” and “Bobbie Sue.” In 2015, they were honored with an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame and have won five Grammy Awards.
